About Me
I'm a senior software engineer with more than twenty years spanning application development, systems engineering, and cloud architecture. My throughline is ownership: I like being the person who understands a system from the C# in the request handler down to the load balancer and DNS in front of it, rather than stopping at a service boundary. That end-to-end habit came from working across ad tech, financial services, insurance, and retail — environments where the interesting problems usually live in the seams between the application and the infrastructure.
Most recently, at Inuvo, I worked on the C#/.NET portfolio behind a large owned-and-operated publishing business. I led the migration of the flagship search-monetization application to AWS — containerizing services with Docker, deploying on ECS with Fargate for auto-scaling, and reworking the data layer for cloud portability. Alongside that, I built an AI-assisted content platform on the OpenAI and Gemini APIs, designed the header-bidding integration powering display monetization, and moved the team's observability from a self-hosted ELK stack toward Datadog APM.
Before that, I spent nearly a decade at Acxiom. On the HSBC account I led a client-portal migration from Classic ASP to ASP.NET and modernized ETL pipelines, working in a regulated financial-services environment with real separation-of-duties and audit requirements. On the Walmart account I administered Linux servers and IBM middleware in a PCI-compliant setting. Earlier still, I built policy-issuance and rate-extraction systems in the specialty insurance world. That range is deliberate — it's why greenfield cloud work and forty-year-old enterprise constraints both feel familiar.
These days I'm deepening my infrastructure-as-code practice with Terraform and sharpening the AWS-to-Azure side of my cloud knowledge. This site itself is part of that: it runs on a fully IaC-managed static-hosting setup (S3, CloudFront, Route 53) with an OIDC-based CI/CD pipeline. I'm most interested in individual-contributor roles where engineering is central to the business and the stack is modern.
